Permission to cross post
Hi all,
New opening hours - read below
Please don't forget the pets from the St. Martin Parish Animal Control,
in St. Martinville, Louisiana tel.: 337-394-1220. These beautiful pets' lives are in danger.
If you can't see the list and pictures pasted in this message, please go to
http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=1&pet.Shelterid=LA168&preview=1
This is a high kill facility all the pets listed below have all been there several weeks already, they could be euthanized as soon as April 29.
For the local people:
I am attaching a flier showing these pets and the basic information.
You can post in on your car, at your work place, school, store...
any extra coverage these pets get may save them.
Many pets get pulled thanks to all the people crossposting and to animal welfare groups
getting them out of the pound. Thanks to all of you!
If your group pulls a pet (dogs and cats) from
the pound, please let me know and give me
your website address or some info on how to
donate to you.
The reason is because when once a pet's status is
changed to adopted/rescued, I will mention your group,
and you may occasionally get a donation
towards that pet's care from relieved pet lovers.
Note that by the time you receive this e-mail, there are probably more
pets - cats and dogs - not in this list. It does not hurt to ask the staff what
other pets they have...

The St. Martin Parish Animal Control Facility's address is 1004 Industrial Park Road, St. Martinville LA 70582. The opening hours have changed! The new hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 am - 6 pm. Saturday 9 am - 2 pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday. Some pets are euthanized on Tuesday or Friday. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
Special arrangements can be made on request.
The pulling fee for animal groups is $5 with proof of non-profit status
(you can fax it at 337-394-1220.) If you don't have the proper paperwork or
non-profit status, you will be charged the normal adoption fee of $65, but
this entitles you to a $50 spay/neuter certificate and a $10 rabies
certificate.
Please note: The St. Martin Parish Animal Control (i.e. the pound) and the
St. Martin Humane Society are TWO DIFFERENT ENTITIES.
Volunteers from the St. Martin Humane Society list the pets for the pound on
Petfinder but we have no other information.
Please do not waste any time hitting the "Reply" button to contact me,
I have no additional information and can't do anything anyway,
contact the pound directly at 337-394-1220. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!
These pets' lives are on the line...
Also, please skip the hate mail, I don't need that, I do what I can and we welcome everybody's help!
Please understand the staff is not in a position to organize transportation

Five million (5,000,000) pets are killed every year in US animal "shelters".
Please SPAY and NEUTER your pets: every kitten or puppy you place
takes the home and life of another one.
DON'T CONTRIBUTE TO THE SLAUGHTER!
Do not breed your pets, intentionally or accidentally.
Do not buy from breeders when pets are killed for lack of homes.
