Subject: Dallas, TX: Found near death Saturday evening...can anyone please foster or give her a home...PLEASE!
Hello Everyone... My heart is breaking for this poor girl and I'm reaching out to anyone who can please foster her or better yet...give her the forever home she deserves. I found her late Saturday night while feeding the abandoned dogs at Malloy Bridge Rd in Seagoville. She had obviously been thrown out and was near death. Her poor dead puppy was also found nearby. She no doubt refused to leave it's side. The first two pictures are of her exactly as I found her. Horrified, I whisked her up in a towel and called a local vet who kindly opened their clinic to see her after hours. The vet wasn't sure if the swelling in her cheeks and neck were due to the tight leather collar that I had to cut off of her or perhaps she had been bitten by a snake bite but as of yesterday the swelling has started to subside. She's still extremely weak and weighs only 37 lbs but has started to find the energy to get up and wag her tail a bit at me. Her poor little hip bones, ribs and spines are barely covered with skin. I'm watching her closely and feeding her by hand every few hours. As you can see by the second two pictures...she already started to show signs of improvement. In two weeks, the vet wants to see her again to check for heartworms and give her her shots. She will also need to be spayed once she's healthy enough. In the meantime, she's on worming medicine for the next three days which will be repeated in two weeks, antibiotics and rimadyl for ten days, rimadyl and liquid vitamins. She's definitely a petite girl and has an absolutely beautiful face with one brown eye and one beautiful sky blue eye. And, just as gentle and doscile as can be despite all she's been through. My guess is she no doubt led a horrible existence of a life on a chain, without any love and in fact most likely was abused as she cowers her head every time I reach out to pet her. However, she always wags her tail and comes to lay beside me. My heart breaks for her but I promised her she will never, ever be hurt or go unloved again. I will be happy to see her through these first couple of weeks, but if anyone kind find it in their heart and home to take her in, I desperately need a place for her to go. My house and my yard are already full. She truly going to be one precious and loving girl who will no doubt show her thanks and gratitude every single day for being saved. Please feel free to spread the word about her. She and I would appreciate it more than you know. Johnna (214) 673-3844 cell |
