PLEDGES FOR MISSY: To those who have pledged please send your donation to my paypal at hicountyrtrades@yahoo.com. Missy is finally in my yard as of last night. She moves very slow with great caution, so I spent most of the day today sitting in her pen on a milk crate, talking softly, petting her and feeding extra good treats which she took gently from my hand. We made progress this evening when she walked up to me very slowly and began to lick me softly all over my face and neck. I kissed her back, rubbed her ears softly and told her I was so sorry for what they did to her, I promised her that her hard times were over and that I would make sure that she will have a home that loves her forever. She loves her soft clean blanket and the special food I cooked for her. Missy has had a rough time, is very dirty and ragged, the inside of her ears are caked with black crusty dirt, her white face is dark with dirt stains, she has bite marks all over her neck and back from either other dogs or coyotes...she is out of heat and is most likely pregnant. I have seen her hiding in the brush for the last 3 months so I guess she knew it was time to come back to a human for help. I think she knew that she couldn't make it on her own much longer. Missy has a very gentle demeanor and if you look through all the scabs and dirt she is a beautiful dog. I will be taking her to my vet tomorrow morning at 7AM for a vet check, shots and spaying. I was able to put a collar on her tonight so if I can get her into my car without a problem she will be on her way to a new start at life...with no more puppies and a family to love her.

...this beautiful bully is not a mix. She's a purebred American Bulldog and from the looks of her, she's well bred and looks like she could have been a show contender. If she's gentle with kids, she probably was raised properly but since she shies away from adults, she was probably stolen and abused by strangers. If she's somewhere up in the Mojave desert, it's very likely she was stolen from someone's yard for pitbull bait. I've heard of pitbull fighting going on somewhere up there, but unfortunately don't know exact location. I just know the pit fighting occurs somewhere north of Trotter Ave.

URGENT***NEED HELP FOR DOG ABANDONED IN DESERT. MISSY IS A BULL DOG MIX DUMPED IN THE DESERT TO DIE ! SHE HAS BEEN LIVING IN THE THICK BRUSH AND SNEAKING INTO A NEIGHBORS YARD TO GET FOOD AND WATER. WE HAVE SEEN HER IN THE AREA FOR OVER TWO MONTHS BUT SHE WOULD BOLT AND RUN IF ANYONE GOT NEAR HER. MISSY HAS BEFRIENDED MY NEIGHBORS BOXER SO WE STARTED PUTTING OUT FOOD AND WATER FOR HER AND SHE HAS PUT HER WEIGHT BACK ON. THE NEIGHBORS HAVE BEEN TALKING TO HER AND COAXING HER INTO THE YARD WITH THE FOOD BUT WHEN YOU APPROACH HER SHE RUNS LIKE HECK. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS MISSY IS ALLOWING MY NEIGHBOR TO PET HER AND I WAS ABLE TO SNAP THESE PICTURES. IF YOU MOVE TOO QUICKLY SHE WILL BACK OFF. MY NEIGHBORS HAVE MADE PROGRESS WITH MISSY AND THE DOG WILL GO SOFTLY UP TO THEIR LITTLE GIRL WITH NO FEAR AND GIVE HER KISSES. TODAY I GOT HER TO TAKE A COUPLE OF COOKIES OUT OF MY HAND AND I RUBBED HER MUZZLE GENTLY BUT IF I REACHED OUT TO TOUCH HER SHE WOULD BACK AWAY FROM ME. SHE APPEARS VERY GENTLE, DOESN'T FIGHT OTHER DOGS AND CURLS UP AT NIGHT UNDER THE NATURAL BRUSH BY THEIR DRIVEWAY. WE PUT A BLANKET UNDER THERE AND SHE IS NOW SLEEPING ON THE BLANKET. ANYONE THAT CAN HELP. PLEASE CONTACT ME AT
OAKHILLSREALTOR@YAHOO.COM .... SHE WONT LAST LONG BY HERSELF, ESPECIALLY IF SHE IS PREGNANT AND. I WON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO TRY AND CATCH HER AND GET HER TO A VET BECAUSE MY NEIGHBORS ARE MOVING NEXT MONTH AND THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT SHE HAS A LITTLE TRUST IN. I ASKED MY NEIGHBOR TO KEEP WORKING WITH HER AND IF THEY CAN GET A COLLAR AND LEASH SLIPPED AROUND HER I WOULD GET HER TO A VET AND SPAYED IF SHE ISN'T PREGNANT YET. I AM REALLY WORRIED BECAUSE THIS AREA IS THICK WITH COYOTES AND MISSY IS BLEEDING SO SHE HAS GONE INTO HEAT. I LIVE IN AN AREA THAT GETS SNOW AND TEMPERATURES DIP DOWN INTO THE LOW 20'S AT NIGHTTIME. MISSY HAS VERY SHORT HAIR AND WILL BE IN DANGER FROM THE FROST. IF I CAN CATCH MISSY I WILL NEED HELP WITH PLEDGES FOR HER VET VISIT AND NEED SOMEWHERE FOR HER TO GO TO AFTERWARDS, A HOME OR A RESCUE...I AM AT MY LIMIT WITH PETS RIGHT NOW AND OUR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL IS A HIGH KILL FACILITY. PLEASE, PLEASE FORWARD THIS ON TO ALL YOUR CONTACTS AND ANY RESCUES THAT MIGHT TAKE HER...MISSY IS IN GRAVE DANGER!!
