 | Chance Chance is one of the sweetest, gentlest souls. She was very loved by everyone at the shelter but they were happy to finally see her going home. Dr. Lee the vet at the shelter said she believes Chance was hit by a car, she said she has a fractured spine but that nothing can be done for her. When my vet looked at the x-rays sent from the shelter he couldn't believe it! He couldn't believe first of all that she was even able to walk and definitely that she wasn't in excruciating pain! He said that the shelter x-rays were so out of focus but that it looked like she indeed had a fractured (broken) back and that both her hips were broken as well. That means she was in the shelter for almost a month and nobody did anything for her. When he told me this, my heart ached for Chance. This poor girl baby (remember she's only a year) has been through so much in her short little life. On further examining her, it appears that maybe one of her hips has healed but that one of them is still dislocated. HOW IS SHE STILL WALKING! Dogs are so amazing!!! In the meantime... I'm happy to report she was happy playing in the grass with little Frankie. She'll stop when she's had enough and rest. I have faith she'll live a long happy life once we get her all fixed up. | |

where the dogs are also listed, I can enter additional info
once a pet's status is changed to adopted/rescued. If I

towards that pet's care from relieved dog lovers.
Note that by the time you receive this e-mail, there are probably more

This handsome guy is located at the Hancock County dog pound in Carthage IL. He moved in to another dogs dog house and the animal control was called to pick him up!! I cracked up hearing that story from the ac warden! He is very dog friendly, and just happy boy! Unfortunately he was stray in that area, living homeless for quite awhile and no one has come looking for him. He will be euthanized at the end of this week if no one rescues him. Cammi was pulled from North Central shelter by Angels in Fur. The contact is Rachelle Lynn at ilvpaws AT earthlink.net.
Funds are kindly requested for Cammi's surgery to recover from being struck by a car. Cammi is being fostered at Angels in Fur Dog Rescue Rachelle Lynn's home and doing very well. She has already seen Dr. Morsehead (an orthopedic vet) two times and is set to have her tail amputated this Friday 2/22/08. She will spend the night and Rachelle will pick her up on Saturday. Rachelle is waiting to get the estimate for the surgery and should receive it in a day or so. The vet works with Rachelle and does not charge her but anticipates donations will come in for the bill. Rachelle plans on Cammi's bill being at least $1,000.00 if not a bit more. It is not merely a tail docking. Her tail has been separated from her spine above her hip area. Dr. Morsehead will be removing it up in that part of the spine. He also needs to take an X-ray of her back right leg. It has swelled up since Rachelle got her from the pound and she is favoring it by hopping or limping. To think that she came in unable to walk at all or go to the bathroom with out help ...to walking, hopping really fast, and going to the bathroom....SHE HAS QUITE A SPIRIT :) Rachelle also uses a holistic dog nutritionalist (Natural Touch 4 Paws) and her herbs and vitamins have healed many of her rescued and run over dogs in the past. Rachelle also has an appointment for Cammi to see a dog chiropractor as soon as she can after her surgery :) Thank you so much for desiring to help Rachelle help Cammi.
