URGENT!!!!! Lost Deaf Catahoula in North West Indiana!!!!!!!!
Date: Sun, 11 May 2008
Maggi is missing. Anyone in the Northwest corner of Indiana I emplore you to keep an eye out for my baby girl. I am just sick to death worrying about her. She is deaf and all alone. The story is Jody had gotten pulled over in Indiana on friday and when they ran her license they found a ... no one really knows what it is yet cause its so old and paperwork is missing. Monday it will be fixed hopefully and we will know what is what. Anyway the crownpoint police would not wait for me to get there (15 min) to get the car and Maggi. Animal control tried to put her into their truck, she slipt the collar and ran. My baby is gone and all they could say to me is wow, she sure was fast. They said good luck finding her and drove off. . Anyone from indiana or that knows people from lake county and porter county please be on the look out. Do not try to catch her, she is afraid of people and would only come to me or Christine Brown or Jody. Call me, 219 - 406 - 2467

My friend, Serena rescued a sick mother cat from a lumber yard. She had 2 kittens that passed away as her mammary glands dried up and she had an infection. Serena took the mother cat to the vet and she is being treated for the infection. They tested her for FELV/FIV and she tested negative. She is on clavamox and she is currently being boarded at the vet's office because my friend cannot bring her home due to issues with her landlord. This cat is tame and is approximately 1 year old. She will be spayed and vaccinated as soon as her infection clears. If Serena does not find someone to foster her while we look for a permanent home, she will have to release her back to the lumber yard where it is not safe.

From: Allison <allybeeber@yahoo.com>Date: May 6, 2008Subject: URGENT!! Need safe place to release a feral cat!Urgent! Please Circulate!A volunteer from our rescue went to pick up our mail at the rescue group's p.o. box when the owner of the place informed her of a cat that was just hit by a car. The cat was badly injured and crawled up into his car that was parked on the side of the road. The volunteer put out an urgent call for help and several other volunteers and cat rescuers rallied to get the cat to safety. (This was on Fairfax and 3rd St. - a very busy area, and the cat was scared, injured and seemed to be feral). It took hours and amazing efforts by all that volunteered but we were able to get the cat (now named Kali) to an emergency vet. $1300 later Kali was able to leave the vet and go into foster care. It has been 3 months, but even with much love and time given by her foster parents, Kali has shown no signs of taming. We are desperately looking for a safe place to release her into a feral colony or into a safe yard where she will have a food source. We cannot release her where we found her because it is not only a very busy area with lots of traffic but we have not been able to find a colony or food source in the neighborhood. If you know of any place where Kali can be safely released, please contact myself (allybeeber@yahoo.com) allybeeber AT yahoo.com or my rescue partner Julia AT juliapennington.com.Thank you,Alli

Subject: Athens, GA-Bruno, Mastiff Mix Needs Rescue at Athens-Clarke County Animal Control-URGENT!Bruno - #26098 Urgent Case!!
(When calling about a dog, refer to the dog by its ledger number, not its name!!)
Age: 3 years Breed: Mastiff mix Gender: Male Impound date: 5/2 Ledger number: 26098
Why Choose Me?Bruno is a sweet easygoing dog. His plight is very sad - he is another owner surrender and Animal Control is very full, so HIS TIME IS VERY LIMITED! Bruno allowed me to put his leash on and he didn't pull whatsoever when I walked him, despite his large size. He is a giant teddy bear - he is so sweet and he didn't even so much as growl at any of the other dogs. Come and meet Bruno before his time runs out!Update: There are no applications on this sweet boy as of Monday. His time is up this week unless someone comes through for him!
Humphrey - #26066
(When calling about a dog, refer to the dog by its ledger number, not its name!!)
Age: 13 years Breed: German Shepherd Gender: Male - Neutered! Impound date: 4/27 Ledger number:26066
Why Choose Me?Humphrey is a 13 year old German Shepard luckily rescued from his "home" where he had been chained to a tree and practically starved my whole life. Though he is a little on the elderly side, he still deserves a chance to live out his life the way puppy dogs are supposed to... With loving owners enjoying his company and sweet nature as much as he will enjoy theirs. Please give him a chance to enjoy the rest of his life in a loving home in exchange for his devotion as mans best friend!

Crosspost ok and greatly neededIf you can, please donate towards medical expenses for Bear (Shar pei/GSDX?) who is a Service Dog with cherry eyes and skin condition and whose guardian is seriously ill and low income. He means the world to her. Stacie is his contact (not me, I am merely onforwarding). Thank you.VERY IMPORTANT MEDICAL PLEA for Bear, SERVICE DOG --- Please help if you are able. His contact is Stacie. Thank you!

Stacie Shelter (miamea2@yahoo.com) MIAMEA2 AT YAHOO.COM wrote that
Bear belongs to a woman with .... illness. Bear means everything to her (he actually is her service dog) but she cannot afford to get Bear the surgery he needs for his eyes (she is living on a very limited income). The vet indicated that Bear would have perfect vision if not for the "cherries." As you can see Bear also has a genetic skin condition that has been treated with cortisone.
Stacie has made arrangements for a vet to discount the costs of the surgery to $350.00 which includes the blood work costs! She also arranged for donations to go directly to the vet:

Crossposting to help Coastal German Shepherd Rescue refill their coffers and to help WYATT specifically. Please donate if you can and/or crosspost if possible. No donation is too small. Any and all contributions help. Thank you!!!!
Wyatt was rescued by Coastal German Shepherd Rescue from a very high kill animal shelter on his very last day. When we rescued him we knew that his vision was impaired, and vowed to get him the treatment that he needed. Apparently no one cared enough about Wyatt previously to get him seen by a vet. After being in our care for a couple of days and receiving treatment for his eyes, Wyatt took a turn for the worse and became very lethargic, didn't want to eat and just all around felt lousy. Our vets have confirmed what we feared, Wyatt has pneumonia. His right lung is practically filled and his breathing capacity is limited. Wyatt is receiving the very best care---however that care is very costly. He is currently in an oxygen tent, being nebulized and on a very tough antibiotic. He is fighting for his life and we are trying vigilantly to raise the funds needed to continue his care.
We commit to the medical needs of every dog that comes through our rescue's doors. We never turn our back on a dog with medical needs. However, we need your help to refill our accounts and to be able to tell our vet's that we can continue with Wyatt's costly care. Three days of intensive care could easily cost us $3K, so as you can see it is vital that we reach out to you to help Wyatt. Any donation will go straight to Wyatt's care. Please consider helping Wyatt today.Visit our Firstgiving page or click on the sponsor me button on my signature line. Your donations are secure and tax deductible.
