3/3 STILL IN THE SHELTER, CANELO'S RECORD IS VIEWABLE HERE: http://tinyurl.com/bykocu
On 2/14/09 the status is still the same! Diane at dk1enzo@cox.net cox.net reports a rescue organization is lined up but FOSTER HOME is still needed!!! The ideal location for a foster parent(s) would be near Hollywood Hills, but it could be in the Valley, West Hollywood, and Los Angeles area, like Downtown and nearby. Please volunteer if your home is appropriate or forward Canelo's urgent need to a potential foster mom/dad.

Canelo, January 2008, just prior to adoption. Look at that happy face!!!!!!!
Canelo, Adopted from Harbor Shelter, Dumped at N. Central. Now back at Harbor and in need of RESCUE!!!!!!!!!! The plan is to put a happy smile back on this sweet boy's face! CANELO was adopted from Harbor Shelter February 6, 2008. He was dumped at N. Central a year later on January 22, 2009. The computer notes say he was surrendered due to aggression towards a child; there is no bite historyand we don't know the circumstances of the said aggression. Canelo had fear issues during his last stay at Harbor. We we worked really hard to help him overcome them & he was well on his way as you can see by the smiling face in his first photo. We thought he went to a good home. We were wrong.
Canelo has spent the last year as an OUTSIDE ONLY dog and, sadly, the time spent without socialization or love has taken its toll. He's regressed a bit and again has some fear issues but with love, patience, and a leader who can help Canelo to feel safe that fear can be overcome. Canelo is already feeling more comfortable since his transfer to Harbor. He remembers his Harbor friends, met me at the kennel gate w/ tail wagging, and has stopped hiding in his cubby. Canelo does seem particularly fearful of men and slightly flinches when you raise your hand with a treat.............. one more indication that his life in the last year has been less than rosey.
Canelo deserves the chance he did not get the first time around. Canelo is RESCUE ONLY!!!!!
