Dallas/Ft. Worth TX: Adopt Corey the cutest cuddle-bear EVER!

A Jack Russell Terrier mama with a Chow Chow dad? I will tell you: the cutest cuddle-bear EVER!

Corey is the product of just such a union, and now, 9 months later, he is 35 pounds small, housetrained, crate-trained, leash-trained, good with other dogs and great with children. [He has not met any cats but doesn't chase small dogs or squirrels, so the guess is that he would be ok with them].

Corey's story is a unique one - his JRT Mom came into a DFW area kill shelter when she was pregnant, just over 9 months ago. Mom and all of her puppies were eventually adopted out to members of the public. Unfortunately, Corey was dumped back at that very kill shelter by his owners just recently, as they just didn't want him now that he wasn't a tiny puppy anymore and thought a dog to be more trouble than it was worth.

The shelter staff was so taken by his awesome personality, and attached to him from their history together, that they simply couldn't euthanize him even though they needed the space. Shelter volunteers sent out a desperate plea explaining that this boy had been in the shelter kennel for 60 days and needed out immediately, and Corey's wonderful foster mom stepped up to the plate.

His foster mom says that "He is PERFECT in the crate and when I let him out of his crate he goes right to the back door to go outside. He's very happy and loves to be praised. He's learning to sit. He doesn't bark much at all, which is a miracle around two of my loud mouthed ones. He loves to play with the stuffed, squeeky toys."

Corey is one of those great combo dogs - he loves to go for runs and hit the dog park, and he'll sit and snuggle with you at the end of the day. He is still very young, is healthy, and is really ready to find his forever home.

If you are interested in giving Corey the forever home this young boy deserves, please email Nancy at

Thank you so much,
Nancy
