URGENT!
The Rottie and Pit Mix were found in the road on Wednesday 7/16/09 in Gastonia. The Rottie had been hit by a car, and the Pit mix protectively (but not at all aggressively) circled it while cars went by... when a person finally stopped to help, she picked up BOTH dogs with no trouble and put into her car. She was not able to pay to board them, and the 2nd vets office she took them to called Gaston County Animal Control to pick up. Thankfully, the Rottie's injuries were not life threatening, and he has already been pulled and has a new home.
However, his buddy and companion, the pit mix below, is now facing death Monday, July 21st if a rescue can't take him. The vets office who saw them initially reports both dogs were very sweet, gentle, and were totally bonded. This pit mix who helped save his buddies life, is now in danger of dying himself.
If any 501C-3 rescue or qualified and approved rescuer can help please contact me ASAP! You are welcome to go to Gaston County Animal Control tomorrow (Friday July 18th) when they are open from 11:00-5:00 to temp test yourself and meet this dog. He must have a confirmed rescue before 8:00 am 7/21/09.
