Only $142 is still needed to board this mom and pups until they can get to the safety of rescue. This mom and pups are currently in the Caddo Parish shelter in Shreveport, LA. The rescue coordinator for the shelter is Rebecca Young Rebecca_young71104@yahoo.com (yahoo.com). Please, if you can help, go to: http://www.animalwelfareinc.org and make a donation, or you can call in a donation directly to the vet, Dr. Martins, 318- 636- 6560. Please, don’t let a few dollars keep this young family from a new life!

Subject: NEED FOSTER OR DONATIONS FOR BOARDING FOR CHOW MIX AND HER PUPPIES
Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation in Virginia is going to take the chow mix and her puppies. The first weekend she can do the transport is August 1/2. I had a foster home for her but it fell through. I know y'all wouldn't know anyone who could foster would you know anyone who might donate towards her boarding? We've got $50 promised to her and we need $142 more ($8 a day for 24 days = $192). Thanks for any crossposting.

...In order to rescue/pull from this shelter, a rescue needs to get in touch with Rebecca Young. Rebecca is the only volunteer I believe that helps at this shelter. The dogs listed are available only to rescue. The ones that concerns me the most is the mother chow mix and her 6 newborn pups. We all know that pups in a shelter setting are basically like sponges and soak up any germ. The longer they are in there the less chance they have of surviving because of their under developed immune systems. Could you please post the dogs for me on your blog? I know I've asked you lately for your help, but the mother and pups are really getting to me. As I understand they did have a rescue at one time lined up, but the rescue couldn't take them until the pups were weaned. They won't survive that long. I appreciate anything you can for these dogs at Caddo, as I'm sure Rebecca does.
Thank you,
Trish

There is an old indian legend that says when a man dies he must cross a bridge into the afterlife. At the head of this bridge waits every animal that he encountered during his lifetime. The animals decide which of us can cross and which are turned away.
