Hi all:
At this time, there are 22 dogs & puppies at Beebe AC - a rural, municipal shelter located north of Little Rock, Arkansas in a landfill setting. Only a handful of these dogs have acquired rescue and out of those, only one acquired an immediate departure date over the past weekend. The shelter is now beyond capacity and populated, primarily, by large dogs trotting throughout the communal shelter yards. This is a dangerous situation for ALL. Immediate evacuation of the majority of dogs and transport to several temp boarding options MUST BE implemented STARTING MONDAY, 26 OCTOBER 2009 or the postponed euth appointment for dogs with rescue will go back in to effect TODAY. ACO has been in phone contact with me multiple times per day EACH day since Thursday. Something has GOT to GIVE NOW! This is an outdoor, landfill shelter with two communal yards and a separate, broken down holding pen for pups or special case dogs --all in a rough and tumble environment replete with Western Rattlesnakes, periodic break-ins & vandalism and additional perils. I DESPERATELY NEED YOUR DONATION HELP to remove as many dogs as possible to bring the shelter population back under control. Without the assistance, I cannot fix this situation for any of the dogs - with or without pending rescue amd THEY WILL DIE THERE, QUICKLY.
PLEASE ACT ON THIS PLEA NOW!
If you cannot provide immediate financial assistance so that I can
secure out-of-shelter, temp boarding for as many dogs as possible,
please forward and cross-post this plea to ALL YOU KNOW!
E-NETWORKING / CROSSPOSTING ASSISTANCE PERMITTED,
DESPERATELY SOUGHT OUT & ENCOURAGED

(Photographs of the second half of Beebe AC's current dog population forthcoming)
The cost of boarding varies from $8 per dog per day (limited capacity) to $12 per dog per day (also limited capacity and stay time). My goal is to get half or more of the dogs currently at the shelter OUT today (26 October), tomorrow and Wednesday. If I don't make at least a 6 dog dent in the population TODAY, I have serious concerns as to whether I will be able to get any out. First round funding is estimated at $1,000 to $1,200 to cover average boarding fees for a seven day period and allow for mandatory incidentals such as Bordatella or minor health issues during time of stay. I know it's a lot and before all said and done, it might be more but I've got to move these dogs or they're sunk and probably future dogs at Beebe will be as well since I could not meet an imperative goal this week.
