Hi,
I know there are so many pleas we've sent this week to save red listed dogs from the shelters and other pleas as well, Sorry about sending this one right now on top of those, but there is this precious, tiny long haired geriatric chi at the north central animal shelter that needs out ASAP due to age and medical issues. This little guy came in as a stray, OTC (over the counter). hmmm makes me wonder, if that was his owner who dumped him, that just didnt want to pay the $25 relinquishment fee. He is only 7 pounds, 15 yrs old with serious dental disease, skin allergies, and posssible hypothyroidism, and whatever other geriatric condition he might also have. We wont know until we get him out of the shelter what his true condition might be as it appears he was seriously neglected.
This little munchkin is very sweet and and scared and should not be in the shelter at all. He is just so fragile and the odds are against this little soul, that he would most certainly never make it out alive! We just cant let him die in the shelter. This little guy has been through so much and we would love for him to be able to spend the rest of his life relaxing in a cozy little doggie bed and getting non stop TLC.
Due to the fact that he was not properly cared for we will definitely need to do a full blood panel, dental with IV fluids, x-rays etc. We are tapped out from some of the other special needs doggies we have taken out in the past few weeks.
If anyone is able to make a small tax deductible donation we are trying to raise at least $800-$1000 to cover all the basic medical costs to properly care for him.
