Update on Angel's abuse hearing- Monday, March 22ndMore info: http://www.facebook.com/note.Angel Abuse and Neglect Trial - Update on Pre Trial Hearing 3/22/10 Today the District Attorney requested a continuance on the trial until April 5, 2010. The Defense Attorney has filed a 995 motion to dismiss the case, so the DA will be filing a written objection to dismissal of the case and the Judge will hear from both sides at the next hearing on the 995 motion to dismiss the case. If the Judge grants the 995 motion, then the felony charges will be dismissed. If not, the case will move forward. KTLA (Channel 5) did cover today’s proceedings and had a camera in the courtroom, which the Defendant and her attorney were very upset about. They tried to have the judge have the camera removed, but the judge overruled it. There was coverage of the hearing today on the 1 p.m. broadcast of the KTLA news, and we may be on 10 p.m. news tonight. The Defendant is feeling the pressure of the trial. We think we are nearing the end of this ordeal and need everyone to come to the next hearing as it is very critical ! Your presence has been so important as we continue to spread the message that abuse and neglect will not be tolerated, and is against the law. Thank you to all the supporters who were there today!
