Lancaster CA: Rescuers Urgently Needed

It seems like an unusual number of seniors have been appearing at the shelter all this month. These dogs are all at the LA County Lancaster shelter, confused and alone after years of being someone's loyal companion. If you are in the LA/So-Cal area, or out of the area but can provide transport, please consider rescuing one of these dogs. Otherwise, please help us network to LA/So-Cal rescues or potential adopters.

If you are interested in rescuing, we recommend you CONTACT THE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY to inquire what more they know about the dog, such as temperament, medical issues, etc. If you intend to take the dog, ASK TO BE LISTED AS AN INTERESTED PARTY AND NOTIFIED BEFORE PUT TO SLEEP – it is very important that you ask the shelter to PUT YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER ON THE DOG’S RECORD. This can buy a dog that is in immediate danger of euthanasia some additional time. H.A.L.T. has no additional information about the dog or its status at the shelter, and the dog’s situation can change quickly.
