Dear Friends:

Blessings and thank you from Bella. Today she had her surgery and it was very successful.  She is expected, with rehab and therapy, to make a full recovery.  The entire staff at the clinic fell in love with her.  I pick her up tomorrow along with after care instructions.

Thank you all. I could not have done it without your support and now Bella has a second chance in life to find a good home with people who will love her.

Updates to follow on her rehab.

Bella was rescued from the streets. She was alone and terrified of people. She would actually shake when you would approach her and then run off.  She is so non-aggressive that I was finally able to leash her and with her being frozen with fear, I picked her up and took her to her current foster home.  No one knows this little girl's history but it must have been pretty bad for her to carry such fear.  Slowly, she is getting to trust me and her foster and is starting to really respond to us.  She was dirty and matted with her fair falling out in huge clumps and favoring her rear leg.

The vet visit produced some bad news. Bella, it turns out, has a rear dislocated hip which is going to require surgery. It is going to be a minimum of $1,0000. On top of the surgery, she is going to require some rehab therapy.   Vet thinks she was hit by a car and it was awhile back because you can see where hair has started to grow over some obvious scrapes on the legs and looks like dirt residue all over her hind end. They could not believe she has been running around all this time with a dislocated hip. She must be in horrible pain. They also had a few puncture wounds on the neck. So, she is currently on pain killers (rimadyl) plus an antibiotic and she has got all her shots and deworming.

I have had an overwhleming response from fellow rescues and concerned private parties. My hope was to get her shots and relocate her to a rescue or nice home. However, she cannot go anywhere in her current condition and it would be unfair to expect any rescue or individual to take on a surgery and rehab.  Hence this wonderful website, and I am going to ask you to please help Bella with her surgery. I am setting a goal of $2,000. Enough for surgery, some rehab (hopefully, I can do alot of this myself) and anything left over to a rescue that is able to take her.  Bella's surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, 9/1/2010.  Please help this little girl. Today's economy is tough and I know I am asking alot of you but if you can give $5, $10, $20. Anything at all will help.  She is too sweet to go by the wayside.

I promise I will keep all concerned and interested parties up to date on her progress.

Thanks and good blessings to you all.
