He's a stunning young guy - full of personality and full of play - It must be soooooo frustrating for him to be caged up for weeks without any sunshine or grass or even a bird to watch fly by.  Wilbur is in great shape and looks like he would be a fantastic running/hiking partner - He will be best with a family that is active as he does have a lot of energy - and that means he has energy to burn !!!  Please take a look at Wilbur and pass his story and pictures around. Subject: Fundraiser for Skipper's Squirrel's Eye Surgery

Date: Sunday, August 29, 2010, 1:09 AM

In the past I have used online fundraising sites to help when we have had dogs in great need.  But I haven't been able to find one.  So, I am setting this up using our donation page from Blind Dog Haven.

Skipper came to us about a month and a half ago from California with the name of Squirrel.  We started calling him Skip, Skippy, Skipper because he has such a cute little double skip in his back legs when he walks.  He is a wonderful little man and is very adoptable, but he has one severely dry eye.  We have tried to treat it with no success.  The vet is now recommending that the eye be removed.  Skipper is being neutered on Sept 13th and we would like to remove the eye at the same time.  I am trying to raise money to pay for Skipper's eye surgery.  The estimate for the surgery is $586.82, this is just for the eye surgery not the neuter.

Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and feel free to send this to others.  The link below has several options for donating.  Ridgetop Animal Hospital in Silverdale WA  is doing the surgery.

This is Glory and this is her story;
She was found as a stray among the streets of Vegas. It was a couple days after the fourth of July when she was finally picked up by animal control. When she arrived at the shelter, the Vets were very concerned with her health. She came in over heating with a 104 temperature. They did everything possible to cool her down, but she still didn’t breath right. They named her Glory, true to be she is a fighter. The Vet at the shelter suggested that rescue would be her best option so that she could be further evaluated by a facility that had the resources she needed. After her stray hold was up she was transported to GSRLV’s Vet. They could not figure out why it sounded wrong when she breathes, aside from sounding like she was choking. Upon further testing, it was found that this amazing little girl of no more than 1 ½ years old has a rare tracheal deformation. Her tracheal tube goes into a tight funnel at her third rib connection, causing her to have breathing problems. She is otherwise a very healthy pup. But can over heat very easily due to the fact that when she pants she can’t get enough air fast enough to cool herself down.
GSRLV is seeking your help to save this girl. We have done our research and found the most appropriate place for her surgery at the Veterinarian Teaching Hospital in Pullman Washington. They are willing to take on this rare surgery. They have estimated her surgery at $4000. She will need a temporary foster home in Vegas while the transport, funding and logistics are worked out. We are not about to give up on this sweet girl. PLEASE help us. Donations can be made directly through our website or to her chipin.com fund. Links listed below.

Will you help us save her??

This is the statement from the radiologist;
There is focal tracheal stenosis in the cranial thorax with substantial dilation cranial to this point, normal caudally. This is seen at approximately the level of the 3rd ribs. This stenosis is dynamic as well with near completely collapse on one image. There are diffuse bronchointerstitial lung changes, consistent with the patients age, no infiltrative disease seen. There are prominent costal junctions seen on the lateral view overlying the heart. The cardiovascular structures, mediastinum and plerua are normal. The skeletal structures are normal
Assessment:
Substantial intra-thoracic tracheal stenosis with cranial dilation.

Well, its official! Linda is adopting Charlie Bear....previously known as the Corridor Trash Pile Dog, and now known affectionately as Wolfie. Charlie has been with Linda for about 5 weeks now and we were giving them plenty of time to settle in together and with the cats. Wolfie and the cats are buddies now and Linda can't imagine living without him. It has been a long haul since that day last fall when I told volunteers - bring 'em on in, on what I thought was just going to be a mercy mission to end the horrible torment and suffering of this sad life. Ha! Think again! Within an hour I was discussing Charlie's course of treatment with Dr. J at Abbott's and knew this guy was going to make it. But make it he couldn't have without the loving care of his foster mom Claudia and Auntie Jenny - On Halloween day '10 I delivered him to them after his broken leg was repaired by Dr. Tracy. Thank you to the staff at Tracy Animal Hospital for seeing our boy thru - you rock! And thank you Claudia for your special loving care while Charlie recovered from surgery and demodectic mange. You rock too!  And thank you to everyone who donated for Charlie's care - you are wonderful and loving and kind and we can't do what we do without you!!

If you've never seen Charlie Bear's video, please view on our home page while it is still there: www.corridorrescue.org.

These two poor guys were found at foreclosed property and were left to die.  The dachshund appears to be young, good health except for fleas & possible beginning stages on mange on back rear.  The Sheppard is at least 10 + years.  Has an eye issue, mange, fleas, possible hip dysplasia.  They are both going to the vet today but money and a rescue ASAP!  Loganville is about 35 miles east of Atlanta, GA.  I'll be the contact.

Liz,
Many of have been trying to help Gail Whelan of CAN (Companion Animal Network) over the past couple of months as she fends off foreclosure on her home. These dogs have all been pulled from shelters around the Dallas/Fort Worth area and if they now are taken by Dallas Animal Control, they will likely be EU'd. We were able to get some adopted, but fosters decided they didn't want to "foster" anymore, etc and these dogs are all at Gail's house! Contact info is provided in the video as well as in the following email. Several of the dogs are from my own shelter; Merlin in particular was a favorite as was Kaleigh!

Subject: FW: SLA, CA kittens & mom need a home-can you please help?
To:

My friend lives right down the block from the South Central Shelter. She was going to take them there because as she said, "They won't kill them. They have lots of cats & kittens there." I told her to please hold off. I'd help her by sending out a plea. Below is what she wrote. Please contact  April (who has the kittens) arike@sbcglobal.net or me gayle87@hotmail.com if you can help.

...please forward this email on. Thanks.

The kittens we found, along with their mother, in my laundry room.  They are approximately 2 months old.  They are very playful and adventurous.  They are climbing trees and learning safety tips from their mom. The one that has the most white, however, is very shy and runs away.  I am unsure which are male/female.  They are still nursing but also enjoy eating food.  Looking for a good home for these strays bc we don't want them to be put to sleep and my husband is allergic (and so am I) so keeping them is really not an option.  Thanks Gayle.

Anna and her family just adore Matzo.. and are staying with him day and night to get him through this.
