These poor, poor babies are just two months old, but have been through so, so, soooo much :(  They are part of an evidence investigation.  Both suffered severe head trauma at the hands of their "owner's" relative...I don't know the details, and couldn't bear to ask!!!  The important thing is that are totally normal now...just happy, goofy kittens!!!  We really really want to get them out TOGETHER as soon as possible...they are such sweet babies and they are completely bonded.

Please, please network them far and wide!!!!!  They have been through soooo much in only 2 months!!!!  Now that they in are with the general population, they'll just get sick :(

I can pull and arrange transport if needed...we need to get these babies out and find them a home TOGETHER where they can forget about their awful past!!!!

The shelter thinks I am about 2 months old.
I weigh approximately 2 pounds.

Hi, my name is Regina.  I work for a veterinary clinic and we have found a dog that we need to find a home for.  I have had an ad on southeasttexas.com, but I have not had any luck placing him.  He was found in some woods and had been shot in the face.  His wounds have healed, so now we need to place him in a loving home.  He looks like he is about 6 months old.  He has been neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm preventative.  If you can at all possible help us get his story circulated and find him a place to go, we would so appreciate it.  Please call or e-mail me back if you are able to take him or help place him.  409-718-7465 or 409-962-1738.

Houston TX: A Tuxedo and a Tabby. Cat kibble doesn't sprout from sidewalks and life is lean

Subject: Cat kibble doesn't sprout from sidewalks and life is lean (Houston, TX)
To:
Rebecca lives in Katy, TX, though she's originally from Greece.
Unfortunately, one of her neighbors showed the worst side of American life when she moved away and left her cats on the street.  I can only imagine the stories when Rebecca visits home.

While we can try to imagine a charitable scenario in which one would move and dump cats outside, the better use of time would be to consider how these cats will survive and where they will go.  They have been hitting Rebecca up for snacks, but winter is coming and one they are
facing Halloween on the streets, not a good situation.

The cats are about two years old.  There is a tabby male who is a
chatterbox and very sweet, a total lovebug who thinks everyone is in
love with him! He is so friendly he's even trying to make friends with a
car tire in one picture :)  The other kitty is a charming tuxedo girl,
and she is a sweetie also.

Of the original little kitty family that was dumped out, one (a Siamese)
has already gone missing, so these kitties need help.

Are they novelties? No.  Are they the only stray cats in town? No.  Do
they deserve better? Most definitely. If you can help these cats or know someone who could, please call
Carole, the person trying to help Rebecca get the cats to safety.
Carole may be reached at 823-723-0713.  I will donate vetting funds for
the cats.

This is Bingo. It seems his owners moved and left him behind. He was wearing a tag with phone number (disconnected) and address (vacant house) and no one has come looking for him. Bingo is a senior gentleman (neutered). He is at least 9 years old, but probably older. He looks like a Chow/Golden Retriever mix and is very confused as to why he is here at ACS. I have him in my office right now and he keeps looking out my window at all the people going by. Maybe he's hoping his family will be coming back for him.
He looks like he was shaved a month or so ago and has several huge matts in his fur. He will be going to the groomer's for a professional spa treatment today. I suspect Bingo is housebroken and he seems to like other dogs, walks very well on a leash and I think he would be a great companion for a retired senior person or couple.
If you think you can help Bingo, please let me know or call Elizabeth at 508-8953. His ID# is A143260. His release date is Friday, October 29.

Hello All,
Please take a moment to read the following email from the Director of the LA/SPCA and respond.
Easy-cut & past all email addresses with your personal thoughts.  This is so very important.  It will be disastrous if NOPD(New Orleans Police  Dept.) takes over animal control after hours.  I believe the funding is there if the city would use our tax dollars honestly.
Whether from New Orleans or not please let your voice be heard.  Let's not go backwards.

Animal Control: It’s about Public Safety – Speak for Them

  https://la-spca.org/view.image?Id=1287

https://la-spca.org/view.image?Id=1288
The proposed 2011 City of New Orleans animal control budget is 28.6% lower than the 2010 budget that funded animal control for only nine months of the year. It will take less than ½ of 1 percent of the City’s General Fund to adequately fund animal control services. At the same time, the City of New Orleans is increasing funding by more than 40% for non-essential services.
Animal Control provides Public Safety for you, your neighbors and your pets. Right now there is no contract in place to perform animal control services next year. My concern is there are animals and people that are going to be injured needlessly because the City did not understand the importance of Animal Control for our community.

Please Make Your Voice Heard Now:
1. Call or email the Mayor’s office and your City Council Representative and ask that funding not be reduced for this essential public safety function.

2.  Attend the City Council budget hearing on Thursday, October 28, 2010 City Hall and share your concerns.
3. Forward this message to your friends and neighbors who care about this important issue.  Post it on your neighborhood website or blogs.  Help us spread the word about to people who care about our community and our pets.
Now more than ever, we need your help being the voice for the animals who can’t speak for themselves.

Wanted to give you all an update on Clifford. He is an absolutley WONDERFUL dog. I put him in the back of my Tahoe and he decided he wanted to sit in the passanger seat with his nose on the air vent and he was a perfect as he could be for 80 or so miles we drove from Arlington to Jan's. We stopped at Sonic to get a drink and he sat up to smile at the car hop lady but never barked or made a move towards my open window. He has been vetted and is Heart Worm negative! WooooHooo. He has been good with all the dogs (he met about 30 dogs today of all shapes and sizes) at Jan's and will be neutered later this week. He will make a wonderful new addition to whomever wants to adopt him. So if anyone is interested please let Jan or I know. I don't know what they were thinking at the Shelter, but sweet and affectionate are the words I would use to describe him.

We're up to $20 for sweet Mr. Muffin :)

I met this sweet boy tonight at the SLA Shelter...he is AMAZING!!!  Muffin is in the kitten room, which makes for some stiff competition :(  He's been at the coming up on two months.  I can't understand why he is still there as he is A DOLL!!!!  He stood up and started crying to me when I walked in the room.  I stuck my finger in the cage and he held it with his paw...not letting me go :(  He was soooo sweet...such a good, good boy.  He's only a year old and will make an amazing pet for someone!!!  I hated to leave him there...and he didn't want to let go of my finger.  I promised him I'd get him out...please help me keep that promise!!!!  The shelter is way over crowded and as a result, every cat is on alert until Winter :(  He has been there way too long and is in grave, grave danger...

There is currently a $10 donation (and, hopefully, counting!!!) to whomever rescues him!!!  The pull is covered and if you can't get to him, I'll figure out how to get him to you!!!!

Please network him far and wide!!!

Inglewood CA (Los Angeles): Three cats and a Min Pin need immediate rescue

    DEBORAH ALLARD WROTE 10/25/10:
Dear Rescue Community~can you please pass this around we need help with four adorable wee ones-one dog three cats~see below this is Lucy a mini-7 lb. girl who was thrown away one day when the owners decided they couldn't keep her any-more.Ixchel took her in..Lucy looks healthy Ixchel cleaned her up got rid of the flea infestation and she looks to be in good health-it's unknown if spayed- hard to see any scar. she has no known health issues a darling dog. She walks her dogs daily and runs into so many abandoned cats and dogs and helps as many as she can. I call her the SAINT of Ingle wood, she uses her own money, keeps them at her
apartment and never fails them. Spays and Neuters them and never asks for financial help, she isn't in a position to do that either, she just is a good Woman.
This kid below needs HELP now! Below is the e-mail I received from Ixchel this morning..she is getting notices from the landlord because they know she has so many in her apartment.
She will not be able to keep this dog or the 3 cats  the cats were horribly abused and she took them in, one of the cats had boiling water thrown on her by a woman who wanted the cat to go away, I wonder if she's ever been burned and knows how much it hurts? do you think she may think twice??
there picture is below as well. if anyone can help with Lucy-the mini-min/pin or the three cats(one white one tux cat and one Blk/wt. cat. please contact Ixchel or me. If I don't find somewhere for these four to go she may have to take them to a shelter, someone said west LA was not as bad as the others however I am not a believer in any of them, plz lets help these four. 1 dog-3 cats find a temporary place-foster-or a rescue to go to. the dog is the cutest thing highly adoptable and all the cats are too. the cats are at the biggest risk of going to the shelter- plz contact Ixchel @MoonGlowBEAUTY@aol.com, or Deborah@ Allardd@aol.com to help with finding a rescue for these, thanks
    Deborah Allard

for any information on the three cats plz e-mail Ixchel-these cats are at the most risk of being sent to the shelter-the landlord has a STRICT NO-CAT rule---she will loose
her home if she keeps them any longer! this is not fair-she helps all the animals so much..please lets try to help her now..thanks Deb

I am having problems at home.  we got  a letter because of the animals I have, this is the second notice I do not know what am I going to do with the cats and Lucy
    hugs Ixchel

Dekalb GA: $100 sponsor. Loving FIV+ kitty with tongue that always hangs out

Subject: Please crosspost!! Loving FIV+ kitty with tongue that always hangs out needs rescue! Decatur, GA

Smitty has been at Dekalb animal control since March. He's in a tiny cage not much larger than himself. Everyday he rearranges it, last time I came in he took all the newspaper that was lining the bottom and put it against his cage door. I couldn't see him but I knew it was his cage, and when I called him his cute face, tongue and all, appeared behind the paper. He just wants to be out of his tiny cell!!

Smitty came into animal control when his owner died. The vet guesses that he's around 6 years old. Can you imagine living in a home with a loving mom and then one day she's gone and you're stuck in a tiny cage?

He's FIV positive. This isn't a serious problem, really. FIV can only be spread to other cats through deep bite wounds. Most neutered, inside cats don't bite each other like that. It can't be transmitted to humans or dogs. I've heard that Smitty loves dogs! Here's some more info on FIV: http://www.catchat.org/fiv.html

I'd love to see him finally be back in a home. Every time I'm at the shelter I visit with him, and he's such a good boy. He's missing most of his teeth and his tongue always hangs out. It's adorable!! Please let's get this boy out of the cage he's been stuck in for the last 6 months!! Dekalb has been holding onto him, but if he gets sick he will be euthanized.

A wonderful person offered a $100 sponsorship to the licensed rescue that pulls Smitty. If anybody wants to offer additional sponsorship money please let me or Jamie know. A lot of times sponsorship money is the difference between life and death!!

    Thank you,
    Rebecca Novak
