Every time I find myself forced to pick up something from Petco I comment to the manager or whoever else is around how disappointing it is that there store continues to sell animals, yet they are adoption sites for dogs and cats every weekend, does not make any sense.  The birds, ferrets and others all come from breeding situations that are disgusting places and these poor little rats, mice and others get bought and then tossed away, returned or worse.  I often see returned little critters sitting alone in their cages waiting around for someone else to buy and who knows then what their fate is.  Many of you shop at both Petco and Petsmart, please, please always say something.  These stores need to hear that we disapprove of all animal sales.  All animals deserve our respect, not just dogs and cats.
From Shelley :  Horrible! So much for shopping at Petco. I was going to stop anyway, along with Petsmart, because I don't agree with selling animals. This is one of many reasons the sales of animals should stop and they should be able to live free, in their natural habitat. Not in prison so some kid can torture them, forget to feed them and not clean out their tiny cages. I'm done, Petco.

"A small body of determined spirits, fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission, can alter the course of history." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

To a man whose mind is free there is something even more intolerable in the sufferings of animals than in the sufferings of man. For with the latter it is at  least admitted that suffering is evil and that the man who causes it is a criminal. But thousands of animals are uselessly butchered every day without a shadow of remorse. If any man were to refer to it, he would be thought ridiculous.  And that is the unpardonable crime." ~Romain Rolland, Nobel Prize 1915
