Liz,

We got her out.  Susan in San Diego came forward to foster Crista, and Chris hooked us up with Pilots & Paws, who offered to fly Crista from Santa Monica to Oceanside, near SD.  The flight didn't get off the ground, due to technical issues, but the transporter, who pulled Crista from the vet hospital that was going to euthanize her, hung onto her, took her into temp foster and will be driving Crista to her foster mom in San Diego tomorrow (Friday).

The people with Pilots & Paws are AMAZING!!!!  So helpful and loving towards the animals.  Amazing coordination and singular focus on safe transport of rescue animals.  HUMONGUS PROPS!!!  They saved her.  I was so scared of what might happen if the flight was cancelled, like what if the hospital wouldn't take Crista back.  But P&P just take the animal and now it's in THEIR CUSTODY.  They take responsibility for this cat's life and wellbeing.  They are true rescuers.  I just love them.

So Crista the Calico is safe and in the hands of rescuers.  She has taken one huge step towards finding her furever home.  Happy birthday to me and to you.

Cheers,
Andrea

Subject: Crista, cat for adoption

Crista, calico female spayed kitty, about 5-6 years old was abandoned in one of the veterinary hospitals, owner just didn't come back to take her home... She has temporarily stayed in the hospital waiting for a good soul to adopt her, but she's scared to be among barking dogs and people that don't give her enough attention and security. She spends most of her time tucked in a cage. Now hospital decided to put her to sleep as they weren't able to relocate her. She deserves better than this! She's scared but very affectionate and purrs all the time, pretty well gets along with other cats. I believe that we can find her new, loving home. Crista wants so badly to stay alive.... Please help!
