Hi All

Hudson DESPERATELY NEEDS RESCUE OR ADOPTER

This little senior gal was found in the woods by a family that sadly is moving and unable to keep her. They took her to the vet, because she was severely matted, had fleas and had issues with her back legs. A youcaring account was set up (goal was reached) and blood work and vet care was taken care of. On the bottom of this email you will see first posting I sent out. This is a follow up.

So, with regard to the legs, Hudson (or as she was named when we thought she was a boy) does have use of them but it is limited.  It seems that she has some nerve damage from something unknown (injury, accident) and it causes her some difficulty.  That said, she can walk fairly well, especially as she gets going but often needs help getting up and has trouble standing on them for long periods.  When eating, she tries to balance on her front two paws and then can fall over.  Also, her knees are not in great shape but to what extent, we're not sure.  I'm pleased to say that I do not believe her to be in pain and the vet agreed.  I think that this is just the way she's been for a long time and she's gotten used to it.  So, she likes being held most of the time :)

Yesterday, we ordered a full blood workup on her and we may get those results back today or at the latest on Monday.  As you may have seen in the post, she's heart worm negative, now has a current rabies shot, doesn't have any parasitic worms, and is thankfully now flea free.  She is currently on a round of antibiotics (might be some issues with her teeth and gums) and an anti-itch med since her skin was so sensitive to the fleas and caused a lot of that black, scabby stuff on her back.  She can see fairly well but cataracts may be developing in one eye and she doesn't hear very well at all.

She is a doll.  Very gentle.  Has never expressed any signs of aggression whatsoever-which says a lot considering how much we've poked and prodded her these last few days.  As you may also know, I am moving very soon and am looking desperately for a safe place to put her.  A neighbor who's been helping me with her came to take her to her house last night for a few days so I could pack, etc but she is going out of town in a few days and we're back to square one.  As such, I've not had much time to research rescue groups on my own so I'm grateful for any assistance you can offer.

If you can take her in please contact me and I’ll get you in touch with the family that has her. They are moving soon so we need someone to step up soon.

Subject: Austin, TX - Senior girl found in woods needs adopter or rescue

Hi All
This little one was found in the woods injured and hungry. The family that found her took her to the vet and they stated that she is about 10yrs old, has parasites which are being treated, She’s about 12lbs, and has a bent lower spine. She is in need of an adopter or rescue.  The family is also in need of help to pay the vet bill and has set up a youcaring for “Hudson” if you know of anyone that is able to adopt/rescue Hudson please email me and I will get you in touch with family.
If you can help financially go to the youcaring link below
