Tawny is 12 years old and declawed on all four paws.  She has had one owner all her life, but Tana is moving out of the country next Saturday and says she can’t take her.  She is basically a nice cat, very affectionate, but a typical calico.  She can be a bit grumpy when her box needs cleaning or when she wants attention, and she will nip you.  She loves to sit on laps and take naps with her humans.  She takes a little time to warm up to strangers, but does come around fairly quickly.  She has been kept on a premium food diet all her life, no health problems, and doesn’t deserve to die just because her owner is moving.  I met them in the lobby of my vet clinic last Saturday, where Tawny had been brought in to be euthanized.  She was easily handled in the crowded waiting room with all the commotion.  Her owner agreed to give me this week to try to find a better option for her.

BECAUSE TIME IS RUNNING OUT, PLEASE CONTACT HER OWNER DIRECTLY, NOT ME.  Tana is moving on Saturday afternoon and says she will drop the cat at Fairbanks Animal Clinic on Saturday morning to be either picked up or euthanized.  If she finds a new owner, she will pay to bring her shots current.  Tawny comes with all of her toys and her litterbox.  CONTACT IS TANA THREADGILL at tana.threadgill@gmail.com or 713-447-7876.  SHE CANNOT CHECK EMAIL OR ANSWER HER PHONE UNTIL AFTER 6:00 P.M. so please leave a message if you can help this kitty.  If not, please just crosspost to everyone you can think of.

Thank you for whatever you can do – and please try to be diplomatic for the sake of the kitty.  It will accomplish nothing to make this lady feel she is being judged.  Let’s just save this poor cat and move on.
