- Desperate plea for volunteers to help 200 puppies from Puppy Mill! - 500-700 puppies were retrieved from this puppy mill

Please Crosspost - Greater Atlanta, GA

Good evening everyone;
I don't know if you heard about this incident on the news or not, but Cherokee County conducted a raid on a "Puppy Mill" yesterday.  They retrieved about 500-700 puppies all under a year old.  Director Moore has offered the assistance of our shelter and space; however, they don't have the manpower to assist in caring for the puppies we are taking in.  Our county veterinarian is conducting his own investigation into the health of the puppies today and I should have a definitive answer on how many (if any) puppies we are taking in very soon.

Director Moore told his counterpart with Cherokee that we can provide space for 200 of the babies if they are healthy enough to be considered for rescue/adoption.  Once that determination is made, those 200 puppies will need to be quarantined at our facility for 2 full weeks before adoptions can take place.  We need volunteers to come in every day of the week and help clean the puppy pens and show them some much needed love in the process!!!

They will be housed in a designated area in our facility separate from all other shelter animals.  If volunteers are willing, we need at least 2 per day that can commit to the hours of 8am-4pm.  If we get up to 6 volunteers per day, the time each day will decrease.  Training will be provided on site so you don't have to be a current animal shelter volunteer to assist.

I would like to have a schedule starting on July 18th (Friday).  You don't have to commit to every day, just the full day.  If you can only volunteer one day, that's still a huge help.  If you are able to sign up for more days please let me know.  I will be out of the office until Friday morning but will be checking my emails this evening and throughout the day tomorrow.   If we don't end up housing the babies I'll let you know that as well.

Thank you in advance for any help and love you can provide.
