Subject: O/T:  Services for Barbara Salesi: Sudden Death of Houston Rescuer: Animals need placement asap  FW: Barbara Salesi Died - Rescue Group needs help with 62 DOGS & Cats before Nov 3rd
For those who may not have seen this already, Barbara Salesi, the founder of Muttley Love Rescue, passed away on Tuesday.  Here are the details for her visitation and funeral, if you would like to attend.

The visitation will be Monday, 10/6 from 5 to 6 pm, followed by a rosary from 7 to 8, at Forest Park East (21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598). The funeral will be at Annunciation Catholic Church (1618 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77003) at 10 am on Tuesday, 10/7.

There will hopefully be more details to come, regarding the 62 dogs and cats currently in her rescue.  The rescue is foster-based, so hopefully all animals are in fosters and none in boarding, however, it sounds as if the group will not be continuing to operate, and the board of directors has shut it down.  The deadline date for absorbing the animals into other groups is Nov. 3.

I had asked if some of the fosters would consider continuing on with the animals they have, but with another rescue group – see the response below.  I have also asked if there is a list of animals with photos and the pertinent details for each, which would help others to consider who they can help.  Hoping more information will soon be available.  At this time, the contacts appear to be Eileen Swanson, whose information is below, and MuttleyLoveRescue@gmail.com or their Facebook page.

Please check out the Muttley Love Petfinder site – perhaps adoptable animals are listed there – I believe the website is still up at this time.

These dogs and cats will need a lot of support if they are to continue to search for their forever homes, as Barbara would have wanted, and not end up at the Animal Control facility again.

I'll check with them to see if there's a list with photos.

Yes, it's a foster group and, as far as I know, no dogs are in boarding. A volunteer is taking care of the 10+ dogs/cats at Barbara's home but obviously, that's no longer the best place for the animals. I suspect that many of the fosters would want to continue fostering if they could be absorbed into a different group, especially if the group did adoption events on the East/Southeast side of town. If you have contacts who might be able to help, please circulate. Muttley Love can be reached thru FB (https://www.facebook.com/MuttleyLoveRescue) or email (MuttleyLoveRescue@gmail.com). I also have a phone number but have not been given permission to circulate it widely so please have folks contact me at my personal email addy, eswanson13@hotmail.com. (I don't have access to the work email outside of work hours.)

Thanks!
