I wanted to reach out and make another plea for the donations.  As stated in follow-up emails, we have "Toonces" rescued and in boarding at Bayou City Vet on Washington Ave.  We have had her checked out and she passed all tests... We are now trying to find her permanent home, but the bills are adding up, and we have not had any donations made.

The email chain is hard for me to follow, but please reach out to anyone one that offered to help and pass along the info.  We really need the help while we try to find her forever home.

PLEASE CALL BAYOU CITY VET AT 713-343-9909... They are well aware of who Toonces is.  You may also be able to give Joy Ann's name, since she dropped her off after we grabbed her from the house.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions

Thanks,

Chris

Subject: Update on Cat Rescue (Demolished House)

Great news, we got the little girl rescued just in time.  We grabbed her Sunday and on Monday, some work began on the house.  She is currently being boarded at Bayou City Vet on Washington Ave.  Please see the info that Joy Ann put on Facebook today.

I know a few people offered to help pay for some boarding until we could get her into foster.  Please see pertinent info as to where you can call to make donations.  I'm hoping we can get the more than $200 that was mentioned by people, so that we can set her up for a great life.

Please let me know if you have any questions and take a look at the pictures of her below.

UPDATE ON ALL KITTIES LEFT AT HOUSE TO BE DEMOLISHED IN THE HEIGHTS....I-10 AND T.C. JESTER, HOUSTON, TX
THIS LAST LUCKY LITTLE GREY TABBY GIRL BY THE NAME OF TOONCES IS APPROXIMATELY 7-8 MOS. OLD.  SHE WAS TAKEN TO BAYOU CITY VET ON WASHINGTON AVE., HOUSTON, TX ON DEC. 9TH.  SHE NEEDS DONATIONS FOR VETTING AND BOARDING, PLEASE.  IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DONATE, PLEASE CALL BAYOU CITY VET AT 713-343-9909....EVEN $5 WILL HELP.  AND, PLEASE SHARE....THANK YOU.
BACK STORY....
Chris was able to rescue all the kitties but one....a grey tabby girl.  On December 6th I received an email that this one desperately needed to be rescued as the house was past due to be torn down.  A kindly rescue lady had planned to get this girl, but, the lady was called out of town on a family emergency.  I immediately emailed Chris that evening and we arranged to meet at the house on Sunday. I had to trap the kitty because she was so frightened and wary.  Believe it or not, this beautiful girl turned around the next day and was making biscuits, talking to me, rolling around asking for pets and loving.
A rescue has stepped up for Toonces, but, she needs to be completely vetted and needs funds for the vetting and boarding, please.  She had ear mites and is being treated, received Rabies and FVRCP, combo tested negative, had a fecal test and flea treatment.  She will be spayed this week and any other vetting she may need....then the rescue will take her and find a lovely, furever home.

Hello all - ... I work close and been seeing these cats then a sign about demolition. Then saw Chris feeding them and got the story below.

PLEASE SEND AROUND - ONLY HAVE UNTIL end of NOVEMBER to find homes/fosters- HOUSE WILL COME DOWN AND CATS MOST LIKELY WILL BE KILLED BY RUNNING UNDER THE HOUSE!

Jeannice,

Here are the pictures of the cats/kittens that we spoke about the other day.  As I said, I have managed to rescue 7 thus far and these are the few that are left.  They are very friendly and look to be varying ages, but I would guess all are under 6 months old.

I started trying to rescue them about a month ago when the people who were living in the house moved out, leaving them behind.  The house is now set to be demolished and from speaking with the builder, it sounds like they have until the end of the month to find new homes.

  • The orange one has a baby face and a permanently fluffy tail.
  • This one is about as friendly as they come, she will let you hold her and she just purrs.
  • This one looks to be her brother/sister.  Has pretty eyes
  • Here's the group together, the tabby in the middle is a little older.

There was a baby black kitten, but I haven't seen it in almost a week now, it may have moved along with its mom after I was able to get the other 7.

If you know of anyone willing to help, please let me know.  I've been feeding them every day after work, but I can't take anymore as we've already got too many.

I'm worried if I can't find a foster home for them within the next two weeks, they will be killed during the demolition of the house.

Thanks

Chris
