Dear L.A. Animal People:
Contrary to what some would have you think, Los Angeles is NOT doing everything in its power to become a No Kill community. With the implementation of Best Friends' NKLA initiative, things have improved somewhat, but fully implementing all the programs of The No Kill Equation* is the only thing that has consistently worked to end the killing of healthy and treatable animals, and neither Best Friends nor LAAS is working on implementing all these programs to the extent they could be implemented. I believe that if we come together and form a core group to put pressure where it is needed to force Los Angeles Animal Services to do more, we can have an impact, and speed the achievement of a No Kill Los Angeles. Please contact me, or join the Los Angeles No Kill Advocates Yahoo discussion group at  if you would like to become more active. I have some ideas, but we need an organized group of people to work on this. I know there are a lot of you out there who believe the No Kill Equation is the way to go, and that L.A. isn't doing everything they can, but let's stop simply "liking" Facebook posts and signing petitions and complaining about the shortcomings and form a cohesive group to fight for No Kill in L.A. Who's with me?
Please also feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Tina Clark
