She is so worried about the dog and has thanked me repeatedly for being willing to help.  She lives in Mansfield

A friend has been feeding this lab mix, and can't take him in because she has too many of her own already.  He is living outside.  Is skittish, but let's you pet him.   See below.    Kathy Martinez

Kathy,
Here is the dog I told you about. He certainly looks and sounds nice. I appreciate you forwarding to Karen and anyone else you think may be instrumental in helping this guy. I and my friend (Shirley) are hoping for the best form him!

This lab mix was abandoned in our neighborhood in Mansfield the week of Thanksgiving. His estimated age to the best of my knowledge is 9months- 1 yr old. We have been providing food & water 2x's daily by our trash cans where he sleeps. He knocked an empty can over & sleeps inside on a blanket we provided. This is a happy tail- wagging dog that is slowly coming closer & closer to  us. At first he ran the opposite way when we went outside.... Now we have earned a lot of trust as he comes almost up to us wagging his tail. He knows we provide his meals & shelter . He has never growled @ us or seemed aggressive in ANY way! We are thankful the winter hasn't been very cold since he's been here. The thought of him out in freezing temps saddens my heart. We already have 2 8yr old labs or we would keep him.  I know he has the potential of being a loving dog to a caring family. Someone called the pound & they weren't able to catch him the 1st week he was here. He ran for his life... Thankfully!  We don't want him to be euthanized & that's what would happen @ the city shelter so we are glad he ran from them. And we are thankful he returned to his safe haven here with us. Our Christmas wish is for him to have a happy home very soon.

Thank you so much for ANY help you can be to save this adorable dog's life.
