Subject: Chicago, IL - Adopt Mayflower the Sweet Senior Maltese/Eskimo-Mix
Dear Friends of Petraits, January 9, 2015

|
Mayflower is a gentle, mellow, sweet and spunky, 17-pound, nine-year-old or so American Eskimo/Maltese-mix looking for a loving guardian.
Mayflower gets along famously with all other animals but she absolutely adores other little dogs. She's fine with cats and large dogs too. She loves going on walks and is great in the car. She is well-behaved in the home and housebroken when kept on frequent schedule. She needs to go out at least every six hours, but can hold it ten hours overnight.
Mayflower may seem a bit aloof at first, but is full of kisses when you get to know her. She loves to be pet and she has the softest fur.
May's fur wasn't particularly attractive when she was first rescued as a stray off the streets of Chicago. In fact, she was a dirty matted mess which concealed a huge tumor which turned out to be breast cancer.
Lucky for May, a foster for Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control brought her home and gave her the TLC she needed while recovering from surgery and a dental. She only has six teeth left but she has an excellent appetite.
Mayflower is now cancer-free, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, fecal-tested, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. May is pretty much deaf with the exception so far of extremely loud sneezes and construction noise. Due to her deafness, she can be easily startled when someone comes up behind her. For that reason, she is recommended for families with respectful older children.
Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of FCACC. If you're interested in meeting and possibly adopting Mayflower please e-mail her foster mom Kyla at kyla.page@gmail.com She is being fostered in Chicago's West Loop area.
Please consider helping other needy pets by becoming a foster with Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control by contacting Kat at kat@fcacc.org or if you cannot foster an animal, but would like to volunteer at Chicago Animal Care and Control contact caccvolunteer@cityofchicago.org
