I met MIA a year ago when she lived at a boarding facility in a dark, narrow cage. SHE HAD BEEN LIVING IN A CAGE FOR TWO YEARS! The only human contact she had was when she was fed and when her litter box was cleaned. She had become very shy, depressed, and leery of people. I couldn't stop thinking about her and made it my mission to find her a loving home. Mia was adopted by a wonderful loving couple and their son. She came out of her shell, became affectionate, slept on the bed, and loved basking in the sunlight and watching birds. This wonderful family's lives were turned upside down when their son was diagnosed with leukemia. He underwent chemotherapy and eventually a bone marrow transplant. They were extremely lucky that that the transplant was successful. For the last few months, Mia has been home alone quite a bit and is experiencing a lot of stress. She is hiding and scratched the fur off of one side of her face. The son will be coming home and hopefully the family will be on a slow road to normalcy again, however, the doctors have advised them to not have any pets in the house. When the dad called me, he was crying and told me that he was heart broken because Mia is his child too. I NEED TO FIND A PLACE FOR HER TODAY, WEDNESDAY, JAN 7th!!!!  Will someone PLEASE take Mia into their home? She has been through so very much in her short life. She is about 6 years old and is very healthy. Pls contact me with any ideas. Thank you, Deborah
