3/20 update:  Two more of the eviction cats (Freckles and Little Freckles) were discovered to also have the stomatitis problems, and needed many teeth extracted. Funds are needed to cover their vet bill -- and they need rescue so they don't have to return to the owner who cannot care for them properly.

The good news is that the cats are no longer confined to caging in a utility shed (see previous pictures) because the owner has found a trailer.  And the first three cats (Tomalina, Mittens, and Bullseye) have a rescue commitment when room can be made for them-- hopefully in a week or two.  But Freckles and Little Freckles also need donations and rescue, so please consider contributing, and please do pass the word so that they too might find rescue, and move on to new and happy lives!

3/12 update:
Donations are needed for the third cat, Bullseye. He also has stomatitis and had to have 11 teeth extracted (see picture below). The owner is trying to get help for her cats as best she can. The rescue community is her only salvation at this point.  Please consider contributing to Bullseye's treatment. It will be so greatly appreciated!

update:
The three sick cats were taken to the vet today for evaluation. All of them have stomatitis, but they're negative for FeLV/FIV. Tomalina is the worst. She needs to have all of her teeth pulled, but the vet does not want to do it for a few weeks because of the infection in her mouth, and her poor body condition because she hasn't been eating. She needs a few weeks to let the antibiotic and steroid shots help bring down some of the inflammation.
Bullseye and Mittens also need to have teeth pulled. Caroline has no money, so these poor cats won't get treated unless donations can be raised OR preferably, they are taken in by a rescue who will be able to get the work done. Caroline would love to see them go to rescue so they can have good homes -- not the existence they are currently experiencing. You can see how they're living below, caged in a shed because of eviction.
There are 13 (of the 15) cats in the shed (Caroline left two behind until she can catch them), but TomalinaBullseye, and Mittens are the most urgent. Please help network them so that either funds can be raised, or better yet -- a rescue can be found for them asap!
(Please be kind if you call or email)

This unheated utility shed was where Caroline and her 15 cats lived for years in the backyard of her brother's rented home.  A few of the lucky cats were rescued, but the rest have lived a life of deprivation because even though she loves them, she just doesn't have the means to care for them properly.
Things have gotten worse however. Her brother was evicted, so Caroline and her cats have also lost their meager shelter. She has rounded up the cats and put them in cages in another shed in the back of her someone's home, so their lives are even sadder now. And three of the cats need medical attention, two of them very badly (see pictures below).
Caroline is willing to give up the cats (who were all fixed thanks to low cost spay neuter and the help of a good Samaritan who drove them there). If anyone can help these cats -- either by taking them in to rescue, finding them real homes with people who can care for them and provide them with medical attention, or by donating to a vet who has agreed to allow us to try and find the funds to help them -- please contact either Caroline or the alternate contact. (Donation information is posted below the pictures).
Three of the cats are drooling (dental issues?) and one cannot eat anymore. The one that is in the worse shape needs to see a vet asap.
Please someone help these poor cats!
