OUTBREAK IN GWINNETT CO, GA - ANTIBIOTICS NEEDED

******ATTENTION!!!*****
PLEASE PUT THE WORD OUT
APPARENT OUTBREAK AT GWINNETT COUNTY, ANTIBIOTICS NEEDED!  PLEASE READ POST ON GWINNETT CO [FACEBOOK] PAGE [ABOVE]

I just spoke to Chip Moore, and they have been working and are still at the shelter trying to find a way to handle this.  They are treating all the dogs!  HUGE CALL OUT!!!!!!!

We need vets, rescues, and animal hospitals that have 100 mg. tablets of Doxycycline to let the shelter buy it from them.  We need at least 500.  They will buy whatever amount can be purchased to add up to the 500.  They cannot take from private people, only vets, rescues, and animal hospitals.

Please share; As per Chip Moore:

We need 500, 100mg doses each day. 1,000 needed to make absolutely sure we can make it through the weekend.  I'm most worried about the weekend; on Monday I think I will be able to find a supplier.  Individual prescriptions will be explored if we have to.  Would prefer to purchase in larger amounts.

We also need donations of canned pate dog food to administer the drug.  That can be left at any time at the front door of the shelter.  Staff will not be able to come to the door to get it from you, as we are having to divide staff now between two shelter locations.

Thanks to everybody trying to help.

Anyone that can help, email with getting the antibiotic please send it to:  animalwelfare@gwinnettcounty.com       (at     gwinnettcounty.com), and I will be in touch tomorrow.  Include the word Doxycycline in the subject line please.

Please read through the thread and read all of Chip Moore's comments.
