Subject: Sam...a gorgeous blue tic hound needs a rescue to help him to find a forever home...Lexington NC
To:

I am working with this local group and they are having a really hard time finding a home for Sam down here in NC....doesn't surprise me...hounds don't fare well down here.  I told them I would ask you guys if you would courtesy post him.  If you read the bio you will see that he is totally vetted and if you read the link you will read his story.  He was a part of a seizure in Lexington NC..he was pretty pitiful when he was seized.  He has been at their kennel for quite awhile waiting on someone to adopt him and he is becoming depressesd.  I may try to help get him out when I can until I can find a rescue or forever home for him.  He is very sweet!   I will be his contact person.

Subject: Sam

Sam loves meeting new people and children of all ages. Very gentle and knows how to "sit" when asked. He is very nice with food and treats too. Sam was HW + but he was treated and is now HW negative on both test. He is on monthly prevention (tri-fexis), neutered, micro-chipped, fully vetted and vaccinated. Sam is around 3 yrs old. His tail is missing (who knows why his former "owners" did this) and the only medical "issue" he seems to have is that one of his hind legs is shorter than the other. We were told by the LPD that his former "owner" said he was hit by a car when he was younger and they never took him to the vet, they "treated him on his chain, at home". This would actually go along with his x-rays at our vets office which showed a healed broken pelvis that was not lined up right- thus explaining his shorter limb. Sam has no limitations from this, his gate is normal, he can run, sit and lay down. The only way you would know anything was different is if you physically lined up his hind legs- one leg is slightly shorter. This may cause problems later on in life due to his size and possible arthritis setting in but you just never know...Sam could be just fine as an old man :)

This is his intake link- after being seized by the LPD: http://friendsoftheshelterdcnc.com/2013/12/seized-121713-donations-needed/
