D.C./VA/MD & WI: 6/15 RE: Adopt, foster or rescue Madison the Boxer/American Bulldog

The couple rode with Maddie back to Washington Humane Society May 29, taking all her toys and blankets and such, but WHS said her fate would be death so thankfully they did not leave Maddie there. They have been searching via Reddit for placement, focusing on Wisconsin. She is named after the town of Madison and she visited there once. Reddit is where I first learned of her. The Petango still shows Maddie as being in a foster home. I have not heard from the foster Sean Witzling since he said he expected to return Maddie to the shelter May 29, 2015.
I noticed a popular link for her on a Wisconsin pet finder type of site:
Contact info for the Washington Humane Society and for the fosters is contained in this link which shows Maddie:

There have been no serious inquiries for Maddie! Please contact the foster family if you can foster, adopt or rescue her! Deadline is 5/29.

Madison needs a new foster or forever home where she can be your one & only, or she needs a no-kill shelter by May 29th, 2015, OR she will go back to the shelter (Washington Humane Society) where she will be at risk. She has been in foster care for a year. She is 2-1/2 years old.

Madison or "Maddie" for short or Animal ID 19951043 is being offered by Washington Humane Society. (This is the organization to which the Obamas donated after they acquired the first and second of their breeder-bred dogs although they had promised to adopt from a shelter.) If she is returned to the kennels at WHS she will undoubtedly be heartbroken and her life will be in jeopardy. Please contact the WHS to inquire whether you can adopt, foster, or rescue Maddie from outside the D.C.Virginia/Maryland region. In Maryland, she cannot be adopted in Prince George's County as the government there practices breed specific discrimination.

Maddie loves people and attention, and like most Boxers and American Bulldogs lots of exercise and interesting activities. The appropriate family would have a strong pack leader and no members likely to fall over if she bumps into you (such as elderly, infirm, or toddling folks). They are totally fun, popular, amazing dogs for the right people! Read all about American Bulldogs HERE and view a Boxer video HERE.

After you have met Maddie and wish to apply to adopt her, go to the WHS Steps to Adopt page to download the adoption questionnaire and submit it to the organization. To foster for WHS, please fill out the questionnaire and submit to WHS.

Subject: Blog post for Madison, American Bulldog/Boxer in Washington, DC

Hi Lizardmarsh,

You replied to my thread regarding Madison, the dog we will have to return to the WHS shelter in about two weeks. The exact date is Friday, May 29, 2015. We're looking for a new foster home to transfer Madison to instead of sending her to the shelter. The shelter is a kill shelter depending on resources, health, behavior, and more.

My name is Madison and I am currently in foster care. That may be about to change, as my current foster family can only house me until Friday, May 29, 2015. While I will be sad to leave them, I know I am an adorable bulldog mix who is looking for my forever home. I LOVE meeting people, attention, long walks through the arboretum, runs on DC trails, cuddling up after exercise, going to training classes, hanging out with you, and car rides (especially if I get to feel the wind in my ears). I'm looking for a family where I can be your one and only. I am so adorable that I am all you need.

I am up to date on all of my shots, housebroken, and know many commands including: sit, down, up (to touch your fingers), stay, and come.
