Gardena CA): GOOD NEWS FOR DOUGIE! RE: Sweet Dougie A4825524 Young Pittie recovering from wound & neglect

In searching, I finally discovered on Saving CArson Shelter Dogs that Dougies was rescued 5/30/15. I don't see any more details than that. Thanks to all who networked for him.

Dougie's website picture reminded some of a giant RCA dog if you're old enough to know what the heck that is, but he was actually brought in as a stray in pretty bad condition. He was found emaciated and with signs of an infection on the left side of his face, which probably made eating difficult and painful.

The medical staff was impressed by how sweet he was despite this discomfort, and there are comments all over his medical history about how nice a dog he is. They don't make these notes for potential adopters - they just couldn't help but add them as a factual observation!

Dougie had an embedded foxtail removed from his gum line, and has since gained almost 10 pounds. He's a little shy when you first meet him, but warms up after you give him some time (see video and temp test results below).

If you can adopt or rescue Dougie, please contact me (robevanu@gmail.com). If you can't do either but can make a donation to help a rescue save this sweet dog, that will be much appreciated, and let me know. I'll start off by pledging $20.

Thanks,
Rob & Dougie
