HOUSTON, TX:  GORGEOUS BORDER COLLIE MIX MALE (A1357525) AT BARC TRAPPED AFTER 2 MONTHS ROAMING ON THE STREETS OF MUSEUM DISTRICT NOW AT BARC ) HAS $500 IN PLEDGE TO REPUTABLE NO-KILL RESCUE WHO PULLS HIM
This gorgeous, sweet but skittish boy has been keeping me worried for close to 2 months. He kept on showing up randomly near the Museum District and my worst fear was that he was going to be killed on 288, like the friend he had been hanging around with. Since he was skittish in order to survive, I decided to start a feeding routine as I felt I had to do something to help him and was finally able to trap him yesterday, after he was almost hit by a car on Friday before the terrible weekend downpour.  I posted many pleas on Nextdoor and was unable to find anyone willing to foster, so I had no choice but to take him to BARC to keep him out of harm's way.  Now, many neighbors are coming forward and want to help him find a loving responsible forever home by pledging to a no-kill rescue who will pull him from BARC. He is HEARTWORM NEGATIVE, 2 YEARS OLD, LIKES OTHER DOGS and although he was scared initially, SHOWED NOT AN OUNCE OF AGGRESSION AND CAME AROUND VERY QUICKLY. When I got him out of the trap yesterday, "Lucky" (as the folks on Nextdoor have come to call him) he was as calm as can be, almost as if he was relieved that he was caught.  This very smart 2-year old, 40-lb boy really wants a loving forever home.

I know from his behavior that he would be the best friend one could ever want. Please share far and wide and email BARC directly at BARC.Aid@houstontx.gov for A1357525 to tag him. He will be available on 11/05/15.
