FINAL UPDATE:  These two are now safe and warm in a wonderful rescue foster home! They will never again suffer in the raw, wet, cold weather, or have to burrow under garbage to find shelter, but instead, will now receive all the love, comfort, and medical help they so deserve.

Please consider contributing to their care, as both have health issues that will be costly and on-going.  Donations can be sent to Furkids at:  www.furkids.org.

And thank you to all who worried about them and to all who posted for them!

Update: Grandma is alive, but there is not yet any rescue for the pair.

UPDATE:  Laura rushed out to the site yesterday to get them fed before the weather. When she got there, Grandma was soaking wet, and all Laura had with her was a t-shirt and a piece of paper towel. She did the best she could drying Grandma off, but she says she was wracked with guilt all night last night because Grandma is skin and bones, and was obviously very cold, and still wet when she left. She is worried that Grandma might not be alive today. Laura had literally nowhere to put her, and no cat carrier with her when she visited the site, and so, could not bring her home with her.
**If anyone has a warm room, PLEASE consider taking at least Grandma - if not both of them. It sounds like she doesn't have long out there (if she's even still with us today...).

***If you call Laura, and it goes straight to voice mail, it's because her phone died. Leave a message and try again in a few hours.

It is status quo for Grandpa. Please note Laura's June 2015 plea for him below. Laura's message as of 1/17/16 is that nothing has changed and he is still suffering in the elements where he was undoubtedly dumped years ago. Now he has a friend, Grandma, and she needs rescue too. Please help!

Grandma and Grandpa have a hard life. They're living in a garbage dump, and tomorrow night is supposed to be really cold. Life is grim for these two - they're tired, thin, battered, and filthy from crawling under the trash to try and keep warm.

If anyone can help these poor old things find some love and comfort, contact:

Subject: Doraville, GA - Sweet old gent needs safe indoor home!

This older man lives outside in a colony over in Doraville. He showed up several years ago, and as time goes on, he gets more and more battered by the elements.  Even though this winter wasn't as bad, he had a rough time out there. Laura, the lady who feeds out there, feels so bad for him every time she goes.

She believes that he was once owned, but was abandoned, because he's very sweet and gentle. She was even able to doctor his ear with no problem when he got a hematoma. He's fixed, and she is willing to have him combo tested if someone can help.

Please help this old guy find a safe, comfortable, home to retire in. He really deserves it!

Thanks so much!
