Houston TX: Urgent 2-13 BARC alerts medical/behavioral DOGs and CATs

2-15 Update: There were two alerts sent Sunday 2-14, one for a friendly Maltese mix who will be available 2-17 for foster or rescue (high Hw+) and one for a family comprised of a sweet limping Border Collie Mom (Hw-) and her three nursing newborns --- available tomorrow 2-16.

Some of the pets on the DOG and CAT blogs
who are available for FOSTER or RESCUE

Today 2-13 there are 13 new medical/behavioral DOG alerts, and three medical CAT alerts so far. Everybody at BARC is very urgent. The shelter is full. An abundance of adoptable pets is viewable on Petharbor. The 26 most-likely-to-die (been there the longest) adoptable dogs are listed in the LOS (Length-of-Stay) post; if you are interested in any of them notify BARC.AID@houstontx.gov by 9AM Monday 2-15. The pets on the following blogs are medical/behavioral impounds who are available for FOSTER or RESCUE.
DOG alerts are at:  http://barcnotifications.blogspot.com/
CAT alerts are at:  http://catnoticesbarc.blogspot.com/
Please also consider previous days' pet alerts. The shelter is the contact for FOSTER, RESCUE, or ADOPTIONS. They are very busy but rescue-friendly. Please contact them at BARC.Aid@houstontx.gov with any questions. There is a box at top left of each blog to search by ID number, breed, or other key word. Each alert has instructions for placing a hold, and there are icons at the bottom of each to click for sharing by email or social media. Please share quickly and widely for the pets if you can.
