Some of the BARC dogs featured in 2-20-2016
alerts calling for foster or rescue
3:45 PM Update: Ale just issued an urgent alert re a GSD puppy A1380293. Little one cannot hold food down altho' happy and energetic for now. Notify Ale immediately if you can pull today or tomorrow.
Update: Six more new DOG alerts have been added.
These two were found together - look related -
hopefully someone will rescue them together.

Today 2-20 there are eight new medical/behavioral DOG/Puppy alerts and an updated plea for Hershey the sweet female Lab with an injured right front leg. There are no new alerts for cats/kittens so far but more alerts may be added. Please consider the previous days' alerts as well. Everybody at BARC is very urgent.

BARC needs to hear from people about Length-of-Stay (LOS) DOGs by 9AM on Monday 2/22 (been there the longest, therefore most in danger). It seems Spike the Cat may have been adopted or rescued as he is no longer in the database.

Medical/behavioral impounds are available for FOSTER or RESCUE.
DOG alerts are at:  http://barcnotifications.blogspot.com/
CAT alerts are at:  http://catnoticesbarc.blogspot.com/
There is a box at top left of each blog to search by ID number, breed, or other key word such as name. Each alert has instructions for placing a hold, and there are icons at the bottom of each to click for sharing by email or social media. In viewing on a phone, the blogs are set for mobile viewing and one can click at the bottom where it says "View web version" to see the whole layout.

An abundance of adoptable pets is viewable on Petharbor as well as Petfinder (see Friends of Barc for quick link to Petfinder page). The shelter is the contact for FOSTER, RESCUE, or ADOPTIONS. They are very busy but rescue-friendly. Please contact them at BARC.Aid@houstontx.gov with any questions.
