UPDATE:

Little girl was touch and go through the weekend.  She hasn’t responded as quickly as Dr. Walrath had thought she should so he did bloodwork which shows she is terribly anemic, not sure what the cause of that is but her pancreas and liver are also not functioning as they should along with high white cell count. We have chosen to keep her hospitalized for now.  She has done much better the last 2 days and today even got a visit from her momma J.  Mom was finally caught yesterday afternoon, ugh, she is in heat and was running with a male L.  Little girl is making progress but it’s slow going, doubt she will regain sight in both eyes and we are guardedly praying she doesn’t break with anything else (distemper, lepto).  Our hope is she continues to make improvements so she can be released.  If anyone would like to help with sponsoring her care and now her mom’s care, please contact Two Rivers Vet Clinic 319-524-5262. Thank you to all those who have offered prayers and support!!!

Update! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZO48Sxic7Q   This poor little girl made it through last night and today.  She is a fighter!! Her Dr believes she is suffering from head trauma (shaken puppy syndrome) which has caused her retina to detach, she most likely will not regain sight in her right eye but too early to tell if her left eye will also be too far gone. She was put on IV fluids this afternoon after not getting enough still subq.  She started to perk up later today and you can see by the video her appetite is good this evening.  Dr Walrath send me this video clip around 10:30.

Please keep the prayers coming for this little girl and if you can help with her care and hospitalization please contact Two River Veterinary Clinic at 319-524-5262 (Sat hrs 8-12).  Any amount would be gratefully appreciated.  She is not out of the woods yet, still critical and her long term prognosis is still guarded. Thank you for your help,  Anissa
