Do you know anyone in FL who might be able to foster this kitty?  She needs to be in isolation since she has MRSA in her sinus cavity which is being treated.  She's a precious love bug and the ACO is spending her own money to help this girl.  Wonderful cat and so worth saving.  Contact me or Denise at dwilliams@ladylake.org if you can help. Thanks, Cat

Cat, This is latest update on Maisie. They can no longer keep her when the Meds run out in 8 days. Then they will probably have to euthanize her.
Best,
Nancy

Maisie is 10 mo. old, spayed/micro-chipped. fully vetted. has had on-going treatment which continues for MRSA in rt. sinus.  needs a foster home where she can be isolated.  she sweet & playful, eats well. needs a foster home where she can recover for eventual adoption.  Shelter is under pressure to get rid of her since they've spent approx. $1500.00 so far. Shelter getting pressure to put her down, Maisie is much better but needs more time to get over the infection.  more details at bottom.

I pulled this kitten from the county shelter back in December, and at that time the kitten was 5 mo old. She is happy, active and a very social butterfly, very very very playful and very much still a kitten, she had a URI when i pulled her, and we went thru 5 different antibiotics trying to get her over it. after discussion with a vet (as i noticed, she was not sneezing and it only seemed to be her right eye that was watery and occasionally she had green snot hanging out her right nostril only). the vet thought it would be best to do a sinus flush and culture. so with the help of a sponsor, we did. we found out that Maisie had MRSA within her sinus cavity, and the culture was sent off for evaluation. we have since had her on different antibiotics, which seemed to help but still has not completely cured her.
we have recently done a second culture - pending results......to see if there has been improvement and to re-eval what medicine is most effective. I am unfortunately at a dead end. the first sinus flush and culture cost about $700, and with all the medications given, we have well over $1000.00 invested in her. SHE IS SOOOO WORTH IT. but unfortunately, i do not have any more funds to continue her treatment. please please please, I REALLY need a rescue to step up for her at this point. If you can't rescue, do you know someone who can?
She eats, potties and plays like a normal kitten...
Maybe another vet will have another idea or a specialist? do you know one?  i do not know what to do at this point. please help, hoping you may consider taking her on, please let me know.
