Subject: Charlotte, NC - URGENT!! SHELTER BOUND!! Need Rescue for Ty, Diabetic Cat, 8 years old - Owner re-homing

This lady adopted Ty in early 2016.  Ty is 8 years old, neutered, front declawed male kitty.  He is very sweet and gets along great with kids, other cats, etc.  Adopter contacted me in June to say she wanted to re-home him because of a litter box issue.  In discussing, I learned he was drinking lots of water.  I recommended she take him in for an exam and check for UTI.  Vet determined Ty did not have a UTI, but was diabetic.  He has since been on insulin shots, twice daily.  Vet had recommended he be re-checked every two weeks until it was determined he was stabilized.  She has not done this.

This cat is very sweet and easy going.  Ty deserves such a better home than he has.  She simply does not see the importance of taking proper care of Ty.  Ty is very beautiful and has the most lovely green eyes!  He deserves a great home!

Does anyone know of any Diabetic Cat Rescues?  Or someone who might be interested in this sweet boy?

Update:  Owner just emailed me to inform me of her trip out of the country mid-Sept.  If home not found by then, she says she will "drop him off" at the shelter!  I'm in shock about how she can dump Ty like this!  Please help me find a rescue or home for Ty!!
