Subject: BEAR, MESQUITE TX, ID 36653994

Bear arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/26.  He was surrendered because his owner had an excessive number of dogs. Bear weighs approximately 35-40 pounds is listed as 2 years old. Bear is nervous and uneasy in his kennel and doesn't like having a leash placed on him, probably because he's never had one. This boy lived in his owner's backyard, along with a multitude of other dogs. Though an outside dog, he does appear to be house trained. He did not react or respond to other dogs when he was walked through the bay. Outside in the shelter yard, Bear did not seem anxious to run and play and enjoy his freedom. Though he appear to want to receive love and attention, he was nervous and timid about how to do it. Very probably he has had limited socialization with people. Bear would need an extra dose of TLC and patience but undoubtedly would come around and respond to  affection in a safe and secure home environment.  Will you be the one to give this boy a second chance in life? You can do so by networking or tagging at rescues@cityofmesquite.com, type in the subject line TAG, ID 36653994.
