HOORAY! Mickey will be picked up from the BARC shelter this evening by rescuers. Thanks to all who are helping the pets!

Brenda at replied to inquiry this
morning that since there was no response from any adopter or rescuer to the plea that BARC.Aid emailed to their list, he will be "returned wild." The exact time for release was not mentioned. Please save Mickey if you can!

We have this handsome young man available right now.  He is having some behavior issues, just wanted to see if anyone would like to give him a chance before we decide to TNR.

Here are all his notes:

Mickey displayed tense body, whale eyes, and was very vocal during intake MC 2/11/2018
Chin looks swollen, maybe extra skin MC 2/11/2018
this is an owner surrender cat.  He was put on vet eval to verify neuter and to check extra skin on lower lip.  Cat is in box in kennel hissing, growling and has ears pinned.  Unable to handle due to behavior
a:  cage aggressive behavior
p:  outreach to send plea and if no response to plea and cat's behavior does not improve then will need to TNR



  • ALL hold requests are to be sent via email only (none will be accepted via phone) with the following required information:

In the body of the email, provide the following:

  • The hold will be placed for 24 hours and a confirmation email will be sent back to the requestor via email.
  • All incoming BARC Aid emails will be answered during the following hours and within the specified timeframe:
Monday  - Friday
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Within one hour
Saturday - Sunday
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Within two hours
Emails received outside of these timeframes will be answered the next day, during these hours.  If a response has not been received within the specified timeframes, please notify Mauricio Zepeda immediately via email or cell phone 832.623.3871 (days off Friday and Saturday).
